Still at play with the little Yashica 44, these were taken in our garden to see how it is with smaller scale pictures compared to buildings & townscapes. Against the Mamiya C series cameras I own, it is pretty limited for close up work, but no more so than most other TLR's, and its tiny size makes it very easy to carry. The screen is a bit dim, and the central focussing spot is not that helpful as a result, and I've bought a split image RF bright screen to replace the old one. This is from a Kiev 88, and of course, it will need to be machined to size, but they are only ?8 each brand new, and free postage from the Ukraine, so worth a bit of effort! ( I wouldn't be surprised if these were a fairly straightforward conversion for a lot of older 6x6 TLR's). I knew this little toy would be a distraction, Dammit!

Coffee for one
I bought this way back in my university days for my dorm. It was recommended in a Boston running catalogue as something that marathoners would pack for their trip to the Boston Marathon in April. Although I prefer to use a French Press for weekend coffee, this machine has worked flawlessly all these years. It takes a very small paper filter that is a little hard to come by these days, so I usually end up cutting a larger one to fit. Ah memories. This was responsible for getting me up for some very early classes back in the day.
