Kona Coffee Bean 15 Tree Seeds -Coffea-gourmet-tropical

The Kona is the very popular coffee of Hawaii. Its a heavy bearing variety with excellent quality. One producing tree can provide 1 lb. of coffee. Join the coffee craze and produce your very own coffee beans! Red, pulpy berries produced on an upright shrub, it also has fragrant white blooms against shiny green leaves. Kona Coffee is a small subtropical evergreen tree. It has large, deep green, glossy leaves and white flowers, each lasting a few days, with a scent like jasmine. The berries are green at first, ripening to dark red over a period of eight months. Plants can have flowers and berries at the same time. It can be grown as a houseplant in a bright position or in a conservatory. Fertilize monthly during winter and every 2 weeks throughout the growing season. It is actually very easy to grow, indoors. This is surely worth a try for something different. Proper name: Coffea kona

ChemX Coffee

ChemX Coffee

** Note ** This shot looks best in the large size. You can see the steam, the light through the filter, and the dripping coffee in the bottom of the ChemX.

New ChemX coffee maker. Extremely simple to use and the coffee it produces rivals that of a Clover. Just grind beans fine, burr grinder is preferred. Wet the filter before placing the grinds in. Bring water to a boil on the stove, once the water is boiling, let rest for 45 seconds. Then pour and filter within four minutes. Enjoy :-) Make sure you look at the full size, if you do you can see the steam from the ChemX hiding the bamboo in the background.

Taken with ISO 800 Flash off. No photoshop used.

February 17: Filter Caddy!

February 17: Filter Caddy!

Made a Kantan 18g-10oz brew for Trish (thumbs up!), but the real diversion is my coffee filter caddy. I've seen many of them out there (in Korea and Japan) but this one was at a Japanese dollar-store in Japantown SF.

From front to back: Melitta #2 while, Technivorm #4, Melitta #4 bamboo (NOT BROWN), and Melitta #4 white

FYI, I'm getting ready to inflict a coffee-filter taste-test on Trish. She just doesn't know it yet.
